I have a few...the main nickname that close friends and family use is Lala. first 2 letters of my first name repeated. Dunno who came up with it. Probably my dad, but the repetition thing, I believe is filipino. :)

In High School, since no one could pronounce or remember my first name, and I didn't want just anyone calling me Lala, my friends shortened it to La. Which is the second most common name I go by.

Username on Fanfiction.net, is LoVe23...cause when I first discovered fanfiction, it was because I was trying to find stuff on Veronica Mars to tide me over till season 2. 23 is the date of my bday.

and of course here on Live Journal and some other blog places it's la623 or JusLa23...my name and date of birth. :)

It's Thanksgiving today. It's the first holiday my dad is missing. It's just so weird not having him here. It's the start of a lot of firsts where he won't be here. Ok, maybe not exactly. My sister got engaged recently, he missed that...and he wasn't here on his birthday a week ago. But today just makes it seem so much more concrete and real...Christmas is gonna be tough... *sigh*

Anyway, enough morbid thoughts. I really wanted to wish those of you on my flist a wonderful Thanksgiving! Don't eat too much turkey...make room for the pumpkin or pecan pie..(or whatever the dessert of your choice is)! :) Take care and be safe!

Hmm...this is my first time posting an entry, but I guess I needed to get some stuff out. It's been a bad last couple of weeks. Friday, Sept 22nd, my dad went to the ER, and we found out he'd had a mild heart attack...Monday, Sept 25th, I got fired from my job...Sunday, Oct 1st, my dad passed away. Oh, and did I mention that my parent's didn't know I was fired? Obviously, my mom still doesn't know.

Too many bad things going on...I'm still trying to deal. We've had viewings and prayers for the last couple of days. One more viewing tomorrow and the burial on Saturday.


It's all going so fast. not ready to let go...

The last few days haven't been too bad. I'm just getting irked by some of my aunts. I know they mean well, but they keep pushing for stuff...like one aunt is getting really pushy about the funeral mass, as if it was a wedding...She keeps saying that my dad would like it done a certain way. Truth is, he wouldn't give a shit. As long as we were there, he could care less about what song was played and when...UGH!!

Yesterday was our first time seeing him after the hospital. Thankfully he looks the same. I don't think I could have handled it otherwise. He just looks like he's sleeping. My sister and Mom are taking it pretty hard. I don't think it's hit me completely yet. My brother, sister and I have to do the eulogy on Saturday, that ought to be fun...i've already got 3 boxes of tissue ready.

So tired, but I can't go to sleep...dunno what to do...too many things on my mind...
